This kit comes with 8-32 x 1-5/8" screws and thumb latch for a 1" to 1-1-/4" thick door
The thumb Latch tail piece extends 9/16"
1-1/4" thick door will need 1-1/2" Screw
1-1/2" thick door will need 1-3/4" Screw
1-3/4" thick door will need 2" Screw

NOTE 1: The flat tail piece on the thumb latch protrudes 9/16"
Will fit doors up to 1-1/2" when mortise lock in door is centered or 1-3/4" thick doors when mortise lock is offset to the inside, like some Caradco and Jeldwen doors.
Note 2:
* When used with exterior keyed lock, the flat tail piece will meet with the keyed tail piece in the center of the mortise lock. If either flat tail piece is to long it puts a bind on the key and makes it hard to turn.
* With a 1-3/4 inch thick door the tail piece on the thumb latch should be 1/2 the door thickness, minus 1/16 inch. The tail piece would project 13/16 inch or slightly less than 7/8 inch
