How to Install a 90 Degree Cylinder
This video explains how to install and remove a lock cylinder in a mortise or multipoint lock. The cylinder has a cam that, in its default setting, only spins 90 degrees. The benefit of this is that a homeowner can tell at a glance — just by looking at the thumbturn — whether the door is locked or unlocked.
Note: If you get stuck during installation or removal, use the ring-wrench again to spin the cam until you can either get the cylinder out of the door or get it into locking position so you can start the process over.
