How to calculate / choose the correct balance
- Weight the window sash (The window sash is the part of the sliding window that moves up and down, it includes the frame and glass.)
- Divide the weight in half, this is for 1 side of the window
- Select 2 of the weights needed, Coil Balances should always be replaced in pairs. Example: IF the window sash weights 24 pounds. You would need 2 -12 pound coils, 1 on each side of the window.
NOTE: The window sash is the part of the sliding window that moves up and down, it includes the frame and glass.
Coil Number: Number and letters (i.e. “7E” on first coil, “7EL” on second coil, “7EXL” on third coil ). A triple coil with 3- 7's will support a window weight of 39–40 pounds in pairs.
Color of Stripe: Color of stripe depends on combination of coils.
