Seljan 3 hook Lock, 1-3/8 backset - Sliding Vinyl Door Multipoint Lock

There is not a good, simple replacement. I’ve looked at what I think are the 2 best choices and both require some modifications to the door.

The Seljan I have on parts board has the following specs

With either Lock Replacement  you will have to purchase another handset, yours will not work 

The route in the door is the biggest consideration, especially on Vinyl

SELJAN / Seljen SPECS

Backset: 1-3/8 inch (35mm)

Face Plate Width: 25/32 inch (20mm)

Handle PZ:  3-5/8 (92mm)

Cylinder Type: Euro Profile

Face Plate Length: 59-5/8 inch

Lock Body Case: 2-1/8 x 7-5/8

Markings on Faceplate:  Seljan   ADH / IPS

Face Plate Material: Stainless Steel

Handle Height: 34-1/2 inch

Locking Device: 3 Hooks on door jamb strike

Strike: 3/4 x 3/4 x 51-7/8 Length, 3 hooks

Spindle: 8 mm

Route in Door: Euro Groove

Option 1. # 2184000 Hoppe

Lock Backset: 1-3/8" (35mm)  - SAME

Faceplate Width: 3/4"   (20 mm)  - SAME

Handle PZ:  NONE, uses thumb turn only

Cylinder Type: American  - DIFFERENT

Faceplate Length: 30"

Lock Body Case:  2 x 5-7/8

Markings on Faceplate:  HOPPE

Face Plate Material: Stainless Steel

Locking Points: Two hooks, one below handle, one above.

Hooks: 21-1/4 Inch Center of hooks

Spindle: 7 mm

Route in Door: Euro Groove  - SAME

NOTE: The Hoppe Replacement has the Key ABOVE the handle. The lock will have to be centered so when the Hoppe handle is installed it covers any holes from the Seljan handle.

The Hoppe has 30 inch length faceplate and will not cover the groove in door. We can offer 20mm filler strips that can be used to cover the old faceplate or you can cut down the Seljan as needed.

Option 2. # 40216 Ashland

Lock Backset: 1-3/8 inch (35 mm)  - SAME

Face Plate Width: 25/32 inch (20mm) - SAME

Handle PZ:  NONE, uses thumb turn only

Cylinder Type: American  - DIFFERENT

Overall Length: 40-15/16 inch, Radius ends - SHORTER

Lock Body case:  2-1/8 x 4-7/8 inch -  SMALLER

Markings on Faceplate:  Pat. Pending

Face Plate Material: Stainless Steel

Hooks: 3 - spaced 16-7/8 inch

Lock case Markings:   5126-18

Route in Door: U Groove - DIFFERENT, Requires new route 

The Seljan has a square end and the other two are radius -If I was doing the install I would cut the ends square on the new lock and cut material from the old lock to fill in the voids and give it a finished look.
