How to Replace Basement Windows in Concrete (Remove Frames + Sashes)
This video details how to remove and replace basement windows that have frames set directly in a concrete wall. There are two main types of basement windows — those with frames set in concrete (shown here) and those with steel bucks and removable window inserts.
In our video, we replace a jalousie basement window with an Andersen Silverline replacement window. These instructions apply to any basement window — jalousie, awning, hopper, or slider — that doesn't have a separate steel buck frame.
