Rehanding Latch FUHR Gear System

How to Reverse the Latch on a Fuhr Lock

Handedness of a Fuhr lock is dependent on the location of the bevel of the spring latch. If a lock is handed the wrong way, the door won't close. Follow the diagram and written instructions below to ensure that your lock can close and operate correctly within the door.

Note: Diagram below shows common method for common Fuhr. There may be other versions of Fuhr locks that rehand via different methods. We hope to upload rehanding processes for other locks as/if we come across them. Please contact us with any questions.

  1. Push allen wrench or small punch into reversing hole and punch latch out until it clears the lockcase.
  2. Rotate latch 180 degrees and release back into lockcase.
