Bushing replacement kit for IPD and Trilennium handle sets.
Can NOT be used to repair the Prado (14421) handle set

There is a problem on some doors. It will not retract the latch far enough

This is a revised design from the original plastic bushings made by the same manufacturer that may be on your handleset. Because of this design change, this bushing may not work on your handleset if it is older. It may cause the latch to not fully retract. (We have helpful instructions and a suggested modification below, though, if you are up for making it work with your older handleset.)

This bushing is designed to work with newer lock cases.
On the old bushings, the "stops" are at positions 9 and 3. The stops on this bushing are at 10 and 2.
This change was made to reduce the stress on the springs and increase the life span of the bushing.

If this Bushing Kit does not retract the latch far enough, we recommended replacing the mortise lock inside the door with the new style locks.

The stop can be ground off to return the 9-3 positions on doors that the new style will not work with.
You dont have to cut both sides of the bushing, just the one that affects retraction of latch.

OPTIONS: If your latch will not retract all the way
1. Replace IPD Mortise lock and use new bushings.
2. New handle set trim and New Mortise lock
3. Cut stops on metal bushing back to 9 & 3 ( metal ones are 10-2 )
You dont have to cut both sides of the bushing, just the one that affects retraction of latch. You need a clean cut, with a straight edge.

Metal bushing assembly replaced old style plastic ones that would break, crack or corners became rounded
This fits many handle sets used by W&F, Pease, Hurd, Peachtree, Pozzi and others.

Installation Instructions: Old Style Kit
1. Remove plastic bushing (Phillips head screw) from inside handle.
2. Install spring from both ends.
3. Apply flat metal plate and push spring in from back (small notch on backside).
4. When spring is pushed inside, apply C-shaped retainer.

Installation Instructions: New Style Kit
1. Remove plastic bushing (Phillips head screw) from inside handle.
2. Install spring from both ends.
3. Apply Thin flat metal plate, then plate with tab and push spring in from back.
4. When spring is pushed inside, apply New clip OR reuse your C-shaped retainer.
* Trilennium multi-point lock, uses about 50 degrees rotation

OLD STYLE Latch & Deadbolt Locks
* Old W&F single-point latch & deadbolt system, required roughly 85 degrees to operate.
* The current bushing May not work, as it only allows 50 degrees of rotation.
* The old Plastic style had stops at 9-3, New style Metal are at 10-2
* The stop could be cut back to allow further rotation, when necessary
* Kit does NOT include spindles - see part #14426
