How to Adjust Peachtree Sliding Screen Door Rollers

These are instructions regarding adjusting the rollers on your Peachtree Prado or Carvel sliding screen doors after they have already been installed.

All About Doors & Windows carries both a nylon version (part #11029) and a steel version (part #11006) of the screen door roller assembly used in these doors. Both versions work in both sets of doors.

Adjusting the rollers on a screen door allows you to raise or lower the door within the tracks, allowing for smoother or stiffer movement. Usually rollers need adjusted to keep the door from dragging within the track.

How to Adjust Peachtree Sliding Screen Rollers

There should be four rollers in your screen door: two in the top track and two in the bottom track. Adjust the bottom rollers first. Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw running parallel to the ground. This will raise the door. The rollers should be adjusted so that the door is not dragging. It should also not be popping out of the track.

Also keep in mind that both bottom rollers should be adjusted to the same height so that the door is perpendicular within the door frame, not tilted to one side. When you have adjusted both bottom rollers, check that your door slides back and fourth easily and that the door latches correctly. If the door doesn't latch properly, adjust the height again so that the latch is at the correct height with the backlatch in the doorframe.

Next, tighten the screws in the top rollers with your screwdriver. The purpose of tightening the screws in the top rollers is to decrease the tension by allowing the door to fit further into the top track. When the bottom rollers are raised, the top ones need to be adjusted as well, so that the door can freely move within both tracks. The ideal tension would allow the door to lift up but not jump off the track.

Final Note: Clean your Track. The best solution is to use some soapy water and wash, rinse and dry. Do Not use WD-40 as a lubricant. We suggest Silicone spray if necessary.
