How to Replace the Lock in a Pella Casement Window

In order to replace the lock on a Pella casement window, you need to remove the sill cover (bottom stop), top stop and side stop--in that order. Our video shows how this can easily be done.

Note: to replace the lock handles ONLY on a Pella casement windows, you do not need to remove the stops. We showed this step above so that if you are replacing the lock, you can replace the handle easily at the same time if desired. To learn how to change the handle only, without removing the stops, please watch this video from Pella: Pella Manufacturer's Video

Note #2: To the best of our knowledge, Pella windows manufactured prior to 1991 do had lock handles mounted on the outside of the window frame rather than the inside as shown in the Pella video. This video applies only to casement windows manufactured after 1991.
